Pumpkin Patch Craft 2012
Sometimes it’s fun to have kiddos work on a large scale art project. Our annual Pumpkin Patch Craft got even bigger this year. It took about a week to complete by doing one small part a day. Max and Jack were so excited to see it come together.
Besides practicing key art skills like cutting, painting and gluing, they learned that you need to take steps to create something big. Teaching them to break projects into doable steps is a great life lesson. Seeing that something wonderful takes time and lots of work to create helps build perseverance and vision.
The end result is fabulous!
Here are the steps.
We only did one each day to build excitement and make it easier for me to prep.
I love that my kids associate holidays with making things, rather than just buying stuff. Max calls the Pumpkin Patch beautiful. They love showing it off to company. Their pride is palpable.
