Sweet Dreams

My kitchen smells wonderful right now and it’s not because of my cooking. In fact, I’m afraid to saute the garlic. It might ruin the ambiance.

My sister-in-law snipped this gardenia from her bush this morning and gave it to me. Its scent permeates whatever space it occupies. I will carry it from room to room with me for as long as it lasts. At night it will rest on my nightstand where I hope it will enter my dreams.
